VISUAL ARTS

Capa’s magnet high school’s arts curriculum  provides a rigorous, interdisciplinary program that balances hands-on studio practice with critical thinking, art history and experiences in aesthetics development.  Students explore a wide range of media in drawing, painting, and sculpture, while also developing their ability to reflect on, critique, and articulate the meaning behind their work.

Visual Arts students regularly submit and show artwork in venues around Philadelphia including at City Hall, The Philadelphia Sketch Club, and other galleries. Their art is regularly sought out by local businesses and has been displayed from South Street to North Philly. Our students consistently win awards from City Hall and School District of Philadelphia art shows. As of Fall 2025, we have a display of CAPA artwork in the new building on Broad Street that the GIANT supermarket resides in. The gallery manager approached us last year and selected a variety of work that is currently displayed.
